Very energetic play against a quiet, solid and positional player like Andersson.
Kasparov knows he has to force the game into a dynamic position. And he does in fashion!

Very similar ideas to the ones Kasparov used in the game against Anderson.
Just to show that GM’s often use the same general ideas in type positions.

Kasparovs own favourite game, at least that’s what he told Raymond Keene in 1991.
And abeauty it surely is!

I recorded 3 Garry Kasparov chess videos today.

The first is a game he played at the age of 12.
It’s a game in which he not only shows great tactical skills, he also shows great maturity and understanding of the demand of the position. Excellent stuff from a 12 year old!

The second game Kasparov played at the age of 16.
In this game he plays the Polugajevsky Gambit and soon has a crushing attack on his opponent.

The third game is from the super tournament in Linares 1994.
Kasparov is up against Ivanchuk and they decided to play a fireworks game!
Uncompromisingly attacking each others kings this was a do or die performance from both players and a highly entertaining game to watch!

This game was played a long time ago when I was 17 years old and rated just around 1800.
My opponent didn’t defend too well, but I played some very beautiful tactics in the game.
Enjoy!

This is my second game in which I tried the Gallagher Variation against the king’s Indian.
As opposed to my first game I had great difficulties in this game because my opponent played the opening very well and had some original ideas in the middle game.

This is my most recent game from the 2009 Danish Correspondence Chess Championships.
It was one of my most interesting games so far as I tried the Gallagher Variation of the King’s Indian for the first time.

Game 12 is the last classical game in the match.
Standings are even, 5½ points each, so an eventual winner of this game can call himself world champion while a draw would take the match into 4 rapid games.
Please watch my youtube video analysis of yet another great game between to great players!

Game 11 was Anand’s last game with the white pieces.
With the score being 5-5 going into this game it was a very important game for Anand.
And it showed it the game which was very exciting and well played.

Yesterday I did a little session on the Chess Tactics Server.
Earlier I played daily sessions of 20-25 problems but I had been away for a while so my RD was a little higher than normal. A high RD means that it is easier to make a quick rating climb, provided you solve the problems correctly and you will lose loads of points very quickly when you fail to solve them!

So yesterday I had a good session bringing me to a new all-time high rating of 1744, which is quite good considering that I spent A LOT of tries trying to get used to the speed required on the server.
In my early days on CTS I was having a high accuracy but only a rating in the 1450-1550 range.
Now my accuracy is down to 65% but my rating is consistently around 1700 and has been so for quite some time now.

The last step to complete to take me to the next level is to quit the red wine during CTS sessions :)
