Manuel
Hi Claus, I am Manuel Fernández (kokino) from Chess.com….
I’ve got a question… how do you record the videos?
I mean , which program do you use?
Very useful indeed…. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Manuel, it’s quite simple really to record a video.
I use Windows Media Encoder, but I guess there are other programs available as well. One I know of is CamStudio which is also free of charge software.

Claus, you started your videos with my friend Florin Gheorghiu. This encourages me to tell a funny history that Florin told us:
It is known that in the past millenium almost all world champions were jews (exceptions were Capablanca, Alehin and Karpov). Thus most of them were seing chess as a game where only “smart jews”could succeed.
Miguel Najdorf was a Polish jew naturalised Argentinean.
When Florin played at the interzonal from Riga he was at the top of his career, having an Elo 2610. After a game Florin won, Najdorf approached Florin saying:
“Young man I like your play. Are you a jew after your mother or your father?”
Florin answered: “I’m 100% Romanian!”
Najdorf replied: “Young man, I don’t like what you told me. You won’t ever progress if you do not recognise you are a jew!”

Very funny story about Florin Gheorghiu. Thank you very much for sharing.
I really enjoy reading anecdotes from the world of chess and this was surely a very good one!

I have no idea why the videos won’t open when the link is clicked, but it’s still possible to download them ?!?
I really don’t get it - any suggestions to what might be wrong?

Blog liked, but a lot of unnecessary comments.

@Privatik:
I agree there’s a lot of “unnecessary” comments, but generally I don’t want to censor anything.

Hi Claus, thanks for putting this stuff up - it’s been a great help. It must have taken some time and effort to put it all together. I also agree with your approach to censorship - tolerating comments we consider appropriate does not constitute freedom of speech, but rather tolerating those we don’t.

@James Douglas
I am making videos primarily out of love to the game and in deep admiration of those great players who created so many masterpieces over the years.
If someone finds any of the videos helpful in anyway then that makes me even happier, so your comment is very much appreciated
